Fat Burning: Treadmill And Walking Are Overlooked

Walking will reduce stress, increase circulation, help to build muscle and reduce body fat, yet we never seem to find the time to do enough of it. If you want a good fat burning workout, a treadmill is one of the best ways to do it.

Owning a treadmill, you can get your exercise any time, rain or shine, and if you enjoy hiking up hill, a treadmill can be adjusted to any incline to maximize fat burning. If you own a state of the art model, you can program your machine to automatically raise the incline for a period of time and then gradually lower it again.

Walking for thirty minutes at two miles per hour will burn approximately one hundred and fifty calories if one weighs around two hundred pounds. The heavier you are the more calories you will burn.

To optimize fat burning, increase you speed and use the interval method of training. Start with a warm up phase and begin at one and a half miles per hour for five minutes on a flat surface. From there increase your speed to two and a half miles per hour on a two percent incline for another five minutes.

Increase to three and a half miles per hour on a five percent incline for another five minutes, and work your way back down until you are at the first phase. This is the warm down period. Continue this up to one hour and you have maximized your fat burning.

For some, using a treadmill becomes boring. One way to keep your workout interesting is to use virtual walking tours. They are inexpensive and give you the feeling of walking along a countryside. They are filmed in various countries and the scenery is beautiful.

You can listen to your favorite music or watch your favorite television shows as well. Time goes by fast when you aren’t bored. The main thing is to stay motivated. Another way to optimize fat burning is to use food to fuel your body.Use Food To Your Advantage

By eating small portions of healthy food throughout the day your metabolism will remain in high gear. Eat up to six small meals each day to keep your furnace going and burn more calories.

Eating an all fruit breakfast and a light snack at mid morning is a good way to start the day. Breakfast truly is the most important meal, and this starts the metabolism. Drink up to eight glasses of pure water as well. This helps the body to flush out toxins. Sipping ice water will help to increase fat burning too. It takes energy to warm the insides.

By walking or using a treadmill and using food and water to your advantage, the inches will fall off and you will be able to keep them off. You will increase muscle mass which will also maximize fat burning all day and night.
